Norwegian Airlines Baggage Fees and Policy

Norwegian Airlines offers a variety of baggage options and policies designed to meet the needs of different passengers traveling from multiple destinations. Norwegian's baggage policies are flexible if you are flying on a budget or need more space for your belongings. However, you should be aware of the options to avoid additional fees. This guide will explain Norwegian Airlines' baggage fees and policies in detail, helping you prepare for your flight journey and prevent surprises at the airport.

Hand Baggage

Generally, you can travel with one carry-on bag of 10 kg and one personal item without paying any basic charges in most fare classes. Personal items, like your handbag and laptop case, can be easily placed under the seat in front of you. The dimensions of carry-on and personal items must be around 55 x 40 x 23 cm, and ensure they can be placed over the head bin. You can also bring one bag of duty-free goods you can purchase at the airport and the hand baggage allowance.

If you exceed the carry-on and personal items limit, you must check out the fee structure and pay accordingly. When you travel with hand baggage exceeding the limit of your ticket type, you will need to pay the charges per leg. If you travel on a domestic flight with two or three carry-on and personal items, you would be asked to pay charges of around 12.90 GBP for an international flight journey; you have to pay the cost of around 14.90 GBP.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage fees are not included in the base ticket price for most fare classes, and you must pay extra if you wish to check in luggage. Norwegian Airlines offers several baggage options depending on the route, ticket class, and luggage weight. Read the significant points below to prevent confusion about the checked baggage allowance.

  • You can add your checked baggage to an existing booking until 4 hours before your flight departure and measure your baggage size.
  • If you have a low fare, you can't include a bag of 23 kg. However, with a flex flight ticket, you can travel with two checked bags of 23 kg.
  • A checked bag must not weigh more than 32 kg or less than 2kg, which means the total amount of checked baggage must not exceed 74 kg.
  • The dimensions of checked baggage must not exceed 250 x 79 x 112 cm (L x H x W), with a maximum circumference of 300 cm.
