However, irrespective of the airline's reputation and status, there can be a plethora of reasons that can cause you to cancel your flight. What Is The Cancellation and Refund Policy When You Cancel Your Aeroflot Flights?
- You must cancel your Aeroflot ticket from the place you purchased it. For example, a flight ticket purchased from the office can be refunded only at the office, tickets purchased by an agency will be cancelled and refunded at the agency only, and for the unused and bought ticket directly from the official website or contact centre, you can cancel it through the official website.
- You must cancel your reservation at least 40 minutes before the flight schedule.
- You can get a refund only if cancellation is made 40 minutes before the flight departure.
- If you have already used some part of your ticket and asked for the cancellation later, the cancellation procedure will be governed according to the terms and conditions mentioned in your specified fare ticket.
- The refund option can be found under "Manage Reservation" if you apply it online.
- A ticket refund will be issued to the same bank card or the payment source through which you made the purchase.
- If a passenger who is not the payer applies for a refund, the refund can still be made to their card, provided that the passenger holds a document that confirms that the payer is transferring their right to claim a refund to the passenger. Otherwise, the payer must refuse the refund or declare that s/he doesn't have a card to which the refund can be made.
- If the ticket is cancelled through the contact centre or online, the airline will provide the refund within 10 calendar days.
- However, the time required for the refund to be credited to the bank account will depend on the payment services, payment systems, and the passenger's bank and may take up to 30 days.
What is Aeroflot's Cancellation And Refund Policy If You Cancel Your Flight For Medical Reasons?
Aeroflot follows the cancellation and refund procedure of the Israeli Consumer Protection Law for medical reasons, which can be seen as follows:
- Refunds are possible for remote sale cancellation flights only if you have not used your flight ticket.
- You can cancel your remote sale reservation flight within 14 days of the transaction date or when you receive a document describing the transaction details, whichever is later, but not within 7 days from the departure of your first flight.
- Persons with disability, senior citizens, and new immigrants can cancel their remote transaction flight within four months from the transaction date or when they receive a document describing the transaction details, whichever is later, but not within 7 days from the departure of your first flight.
- You must submit it in writing for the booking cancellation and claim for the refund.
- If all the above conditions are met, you are entitled to get a refund after deducting the 5% cancellation charges or NIS 100 per ticket, whichever is lower.
What Is The Procedure For Applying For Cancellation And Getting A Refund With Aeroflot?
The process to cancel an Aeroflot flight ticket is based on how you purchased a ticket. For example, if you have purchased an air ticket from the office, you have to cancel the ticket from the office only, and the tickets purchased through travel agents can be cancelled via them only. However, if you have bought it directly from Aeroflot's website or its call centre, you can follow the following procedure:
- Visit the official website of Aeroflot at aeroflot.ru
- Click on "Manage Your Booking" under the "Service" section
- Enter your booking code and last name in Latin letters, and click "Search".
- Once your itinerary opens, select "Exchange or refund tickets".
- Follow the further instructions to complete the process.
- Pay the cancellation fee, if applicable.
- Get your refund within 10 calendar days.
Note: Alternatively, you can also call Aeroflot's call centre at 8 (800) 444 55 55, where you can ask their representatives to cancel your flight. Afterwards, provide them with the basic information, including your booking number and last name. If applicable, pay the cancellation charges and cancel your ticket, as well as apply for a refund.
