What is Singapore Airlines' cancellation policy?
Singapore Airlines is considered one of the luxury airlines in the world and car. The airline offers a variety of services, through which passengers have the opportunity to have a hassle-free experience. One of the services is cancellation, but to get it you have to meet some conditions given by Singapore Airlines which are mentioned below:
Singapore Airlines Cancellation Policy
- Passengers can cancel their Singapore Airlines ticket online only when they have purchased the ticket directly from Singapore Airlines.
- If you cancel a non-refundable ticket, only you will receive the refundable taxes.
- If you cancel your ticket within the date given on your ticket, you can get a full refund
- If you have purchased your ticket to/from the United States, your ticket can be cancelled within 24 hours or 7 days before the scheduled flight departure.
- In case, Singapore Airlines cancels the flight, you do not have to pay the additional cost, you will receive a refund to your original account.
- The penalty for flight cancellation depends on the destination of the ticket.
- Tickets purchased from a travel agency cannot be cancelled.
How Can I Cancel On Singapore Airlines?
Make the cancellation online
Singapore Airlines allows you to perform the cancellation process online with the help of "Manage My Booking" and to do that, follow the steps:
- Go to the Singapore Airlines website or singaporeair.com
- Enter the "plan trip/your reservation/manage reservation" section
- Now, you have to fill in 6 characters of your reservation and your last name which is the same as on your passport
- Select the itinerary you would like to cancel and you may be required to pay the cancellation fee
- Follow the entire process until you receive confirmation in your email.
- Within a few days you will receive your refund.
Cancellation by phone
Those passengers who are technologically challenged can choose the Singapore Airlines phone option. In this method, you will be connected to the team of agents, whose responsibility is to assist the passengers with their issues. You simply have to dial on the Singapore Airlines address, go through the IVR process where you have to choose a few buttons which will connect you to the representative. Upon connecting you have to explain your reason for cancellation and if the reason as per the policy you are eligible to cancel your booking. Please note, the booking you wish to cancel is refundable, because for non-refundable tickets the airline only returns some money from the ticket which is refundable.
Cancellation Through Travel Agency
Passengers who have purchased their ticket from a travel agency will have to contact them directly to complete the cancellation process with Singapore Airlines. Please note that Singapore Airlines is not responsible for tickets purchased from a travel agency and for refunds. So for any questions or queries, it is best to contact the travel company directly.
