Oman Air Airlines Baggage Allowance, Rules & Policy

Before embarking on your journey with Oman Air, it is crucial to familiarize yourself with the airline's comprehensive baggage policy. Oman Air has specific rules regarding both checked and carry-on baggage, and being aware of these can significantly enhance your travel experience. Onboard Baggage Allowance In Oman Air

The maximum dimensions of each bag should be adhered to a total linear dimension of 45 inches or 115 cm, and the weight can't exceed 7 kg for a particular piece. However, the allowance for pieces to carry bags varies based on the fare type of the passenger, which can be seen as follows:

• For Business Studio Class Passengers- You are allowed to carry two pieces of handbags onboard.
• For Business Class Passengers- Either Business Comfort or Business Flex passengers, you all are also allowed to have two pieces of baggage onboard.
• For Economy Class Passengers- All the passengers of the Economy Class, including Super Saver, Comfort, or Flex, can only bring one piece of baggage with them onboard. 

Note: Except for Economy Saver passengers, all are allowed to bring an extra 10 kg of luggage if they are travelling with infants, adhering to the dimensions and weightage mentioned above.

Check-in Baggage Allowance in Oman Air

There is no limit to the number of baggage that one can carry, though the checked-in baggage should comply with the total linear dimensions that can't exceed 158 cm, including the handles and wheels. Besides that, the maximum weight of each bag can't outdo 32 kg. However, an individual can carry how much weight depends on the fare class that a passenger has and the Sinbad membership, which can be seen as follows:

• For Business Studio Class Passengers- You are allowed to carry 60 kg of weight as checked-in baggage. 
• For Business Class Passengers- Business Comfort passenger's checked-in baggage allowance limit is 40 kg, whereas Business Flex can bring 50 kg of weight.
• Economy Class Passengers—Flex passengers can carry a total of 30 kg of weight, whereas Comfort passengers can only carry 20 kg of weight. However, Super Saver Economy passengers are not allowed to carry any checked-in baggage. 

Note:

• A particular bag weighing more than 32 kg will not be accepted by Oman Air in any circumstances. 
• baggage that exceeds the standard size and weight restriction will be dealt with in extra baggage weightage. 
• Sinbad Members with Gold membership are allowed to bring 20 kg more weight than their standard weightage allowance by adhering to each bag's weight and dimensions, except Economy Saver passengers.
• Sinbad Members with Silver membership are allowed to bring 10kg more weight than their standard weightage allowance by adhering to each bag's weight and dimensions, except Economy Saver passengers.

Excess Babbage Policy In Oman Air

• Rate per 5 kg- The standard checked-in baggage charges with Oman Air will start at an additional 5 kg of weight. On domestic flights, the airline will normally charge you with up to $26. On the other hand, on international flights, you can pay between $49 to $99 to the airline, depending upon your route, destinations and membership status.
• Rate per 23 kg—You can pay up to $81 to the airline for your domestic flights. Whereas, international flights can cost between $169 and $339, depending on your destination, route, and membership status. 

Special Baggage Policy in Oman Air

• Baggage is considered standard special baggage if it adheres to a total linear dimension of 210 cm or 83 inches and a maximum weight of 23 kg.
• Special baggage includes children's strollers, musical instruments, sports equipment, TV screens, and any other odd-size articles. 
• Excess baggage charges are applied to these articles. 
• If an article's total linear dimension varies between 210 and 292 cm, it will be charged as large special baggage, which can cost $113 for domestic flights and between $199 and $369 for international flights.
